UK-based Pegasus Welfare Solutions Ltd (PWS) is investing in a new fabrication base in Scotland after its first contract win there for its ground-breaking offshore hygiene and welfare units.
It will build all its patented multi-unit portable toilets and lightweight welfare ‘habitats’ for the three substations for the Moray East Offshore Wind at the base, and for future Scotland contracts, to contribute to local content for developers.
Further expansion for the east of England business is a move to a new fabrication base and head office in Norfolk next month at the heart of the UK’s offshore wind growth.
Its Moray East contract, worth £150,000, is to supply its patented multi-unit portable toilets and lightweight welfare ‘habitats’, with cleaning and sanitising equipment, to support Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) Limited (MOWEL) to provide workers with a ‘Covid-secure’ workplace.
PWS managing director Dan Greeves is currently working with local authorities to secure the new site.
The Moray East contract will run throughout the 100-turbine wind farm’s construction phase, with future options.
The contract for the modular units built on marine grade aluminium frames is its third offshore wind contract win in six weeks.
Mr Greeves designed and patented the unique welfare solutions after identifying an opportunity to provide the same workforce hygiene facilities as on shore. As well as toilets, the units can provide showers and eye wash and hand wash stations.
PWS solutions also improve safety and productivity offshore by cutting down ladder climbs to and from CTVs for toilets and handwashing by at least a third.

PWS has landed three contracts in six weeks for its patented solutions to offshore hygiene.
